Danish diplomat Peter Sorensen has been confirmed by the European Union ambassadors for the position of the EU’s Special Representative for the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
Sorensen was appointed by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, to replace Miroslav Lajčak in this role.
The EU Foreign Ministers will give their final approval on Monday, allowing Sorensen to begin his mandate at the start of February.
The current envoy, Lajčak, will complete his mandate on January 31, reports REL.
