The European Commission has announced a budget of €1.87 billion for humanitarian aid in 2025, aimed at supporting the needs of over 300 million people.
Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, emphasized that the EU continues to uphold its commitment as a major humanitarian donor. The aid will primarily be directed to the Middle East (Gaza and Syria), Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Asia.
European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that the EU remains one of the world’s leading donors, and for 2025, the budget will increase to €1.9 billion. The aid will be distributed through international organizations and specialized UN agencies.
