The European Union has continued to call on Kosovo and Serbia to make maximum efforts regarding the dialogue.

EU spokesperson, Anitta Hipper, stated that the European Union is working hard to support the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and she urged the two countries to do the same.

Hipper emphasized the importance of the dialogue process.

“We always believe in the power of dialogue, and this is something very important and necessary. That is why we are putting all our efforts into the dialogue and asking the parties involved to do the same,” said Anitta Hipper.

These statements were made after the closure of the Serbian parallel institutions, ordered by Kosovo’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.

Meanwhile, the Kosovo Government clarified that these are not structures supported by Serbia but are illegal institutions that challenge the country’s order and constitution.

The Government even rejected the EU’s alleged claim that their status should be resolved through dialogue.

When asked by journalists to clarify what exactly the EU had asked the parties to do, Hipper responded by stressing the importance of engaging in a constructive dialogue.

However, she was caught off guard when asked about the fact that most of the meetings convened fail, such as the inaugural meeting of the Joint Commission on Missing Persons from the war.

Despite the confirmation by mediator Miroslav Lajčak that the Serbian side was responsible for the failure of the meeting, spokesperson Hipper stated that she would comment on the issue at a later time.

It is worth noting that the chief negotiator for Serbia, Petar Petković, refused to attend the meeting, citing the closure of the Serbian parallel institutions as the reason.
