European Union leaders have reaffirmed their commitment to contributing to all diplomatic efforts aimed at de-escalating tensions around Iran, following recent developments in the region.
In a joint statement released this Thursday, EU leaders emphasized that the goal is to achieve a “sustainable solution to the Iranian nuclear issue, which can only come through negotiations.” The statement also welcomed the recently achieved ceasefire and urged all involved parties to exercise restraint to prevent further escalation of the situation.
“Iran must never be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons,” the EU communiqué further stated, underscoring the bloc’s unwavering stance on regional and international security.
