The European Union’s Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, stated that the international community is currently reviewing the Constitutional Court’s recent decision, while urging political parties to swiftly establish the country’s new institutions.
“We are analyzing it at the moment, but certainly our hope is that the Assembly will be constituted as soon as possible, and we also hope that there will be a fully mandated government without delay,” Orav said in a media statement on October 1.
Just a day earlier, the Constitutional Court released its ruling on the Assembly case, declaring that the legislative body is not considered constituted, contrary to the claim made in late August by the newly elected Speaker, Dimal Basha.
The Court emphasized that the Assembly cannot be deemed constituted without the election of a Deputy Speaker from the Serb community.
