EU Commissioner Arrives in North Macedonia for Western Balkans Summit

Marta Kos, the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, arrived in Skopje today for the European Union (EU) – Western Balkans Leaders’ Summit. She was greeted by North Macedonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timčo Mucunski.

The Leaders’ Summit is taking place today and tomorrow. In addition to representatives from North Macedonia, leaders from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Serbia, and Montenegro will also be in attendance.

The main topic of discussion will be the EU’s Growth Plan for the region. The Western Balkans Growth Plan was promoted by the European Commission in October 2023 and aims to stimulate economic growth in the region and assist Western Balkan countries in their path towards EU membership.
