EU Office: EC President Urged Constructive Dialogue Engagement for EU Path Advancement

The European Union Office in Kosovo has issued a statement following the visit of the President of the European Council, António Costa, who is in Prishtina tonight as part of a regional diplomatic tour.

During his stay in Prishtina, President Costa held meetings with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Vetëvendosje and President Vjosa Osmani.

According to the EU statement, the importance of Kosovo’s commitment to the dialogue with Serbia, facilitated by Brussels, was emphasized during the meetings.

“The President of the European Council, António Costa, met with the outgoing Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, and stressed the importance of Kosovo engaging in the normalization of relations through a constructive dialogue, in order to advance on its path towards the European Union.”

The statement underscores the EU’s continued focus on the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue as a crucial element for Kosovo’s progress towards EU membership. President Costa’s emphasis on constructive engagement highlights the EU’s expectation for tangible steps in normalizing relations between the two parties.
