The European Union has provided the final support under the IPA 2016 program for Public Administration Reform, reaffirming its commitment to Kosovo and its citizens, according to the EU Office in Kosovo.

“In August 2025, the EU disbursed the last two payments under the Sectoral Reform Contract IPA 2016 for Public Administration Reform, totaling €6.87 million. The overall budget for this contract was €22 million,” the statement reads.

This EU support helps Kosovo’s central authorities to:

  1. Strengthen policy planning and legislative processes.
  2. Advance accountability, transparency, and efficiency in public administration.
  3. Increase professionalism and depoliticization of the civil service.
  4. Improve the delivery of services to the citizens and businesses of Kosovo.

“Although progress has been made, further efforts are needed to enhance the legal and institutional framework and to build stronger capacities within central authorities. Effective implementation of these reforms will bring direct benefits to all citizens of Kosovo. The EU stands with Kosovo and supports its people,” the statement concludes.
