Over 100 election observers from the European Union (EU) have been deployed across Kosovo to ensure a free and fair electoral process.

Nathalie Loiseau, Head of the EU Election Observation Mission (EOM) for Kosovo 2025, is set to deliver a media statement later today. Loiseau officially launched the EU mission, emphasizing the EU’s commitment to strengthening democratic governance in Kosovo.

“The expectations are high, especially since these elections will be conducted under the new law,” stated Loiseau.

The EU’s long-term observers hail from 18 countries, including EU member states, Norway, and Switzerland. The mission is further supported by 36 short-term observers, a delegation of Members of the European Parliament, and 36 diplomats from EU member states, Canada, Norway, and Switzerland. These representatives will remain in Kosovo until the electoral process concludes.
