The European Union’s envoy for the Kosovo–Serbia dialogue, Peter Sorensen, announced on Monday that he had met with Kosovo’s chief negotiator, Besnik Bislimi, in Brussels to discuss a wide range of important issues related to the normalization of relations between the two countries.
Sorensen stated that preparations are underway for a new trilateral meeting as part of the dialogue process.
“Hosted the Kosovo Chief Negotiator @BislimiBesnik for a meeting in preparation of a trilateral Dialogue meeting in Brussels today. Discussed a wide range of issues important for the normalisation of relations with Serbia. Plan to host a trilateral meeting soon,” Sorensen wrote on X.
This signals the beginning of what he called a new phase in the EU-facilitated dialogue aimed at overcoming long-standing political tensions between Kosovo and Serbia.
