In a statement to the Associated Press regarding the February 9th elections in Kosovo, the EU Ambassador to Kosovo, Aivo Orav, expressed hope that the formation of the new government would proceed without difficulties.
He stated that the new executive must meet the expectations of the population, the majority of whom support Kosovo’s desire to join the 27-member bloc.
Orav warned that the new government must work hard and actively.
“The European Union stands for human rights, the rule of law, and a better life. To achieve this, the new government must work diligently and actively. Tough tasks must be tackled. Reforms must be made,” he told the Associated Press.
“Normalizing relations is a necessity for both Kosovo and Serbia,” he added.
