Brussels, August 3, 2025 — The European Union has reaffirmed its role as a mediator in the ongoing dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, emphasizing its continued efforts to secure a comprehensive agreement that addresses all unresolved issues between the two parties.

The statement comes following remarks by French President Emmanuel Macron, who—in a conversation with his Serbian counterpart Aleksandar Vučić—highlighted the importance of Kosovo–Serbia negotiations and the implementation of previously reached agreements.

“The EU expects Serbia and Kosovo to swiftly fulfill their commitments to the Dialogue, given the direct link between the normalization of relations and their EU membership prospects,” the European Commission’s press office declared.

EU officials further noted that after the latest meeting of chief negotiators in June, the EU remains ready to convene the next round of talks as soon as both sides indicate their willingness to meet—either at the technical or political level.
