European leaders have reacted strongly to Russia’s recent attack on the main government building in Kyiv, emphasizing their unwavering support for Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron wrote, “Solidarity with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” while accusing Russia of increasingly “closing itself within the logic of war and terror.”

Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics criticized Russia for continuing to escalate the conflict by “aggressively targeting civilian infrastructure” in Ukraine.

“The message is clear: the Kremlin wants war, not peace. The response must be more weapons for Ukraine, more pressure on Russia,” Rinkevics stated.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen accused the Kremlin of “mocking diplomacy, violating international law, and committing indiscriminate killings.” She reaffirmed that Europe stands fully with Ukraine and will continue to do so.

Moldovan President Maia Sandu also condemned the attacks in Kyiv, stating that Moldova “stands firmly with Ukraine against this terror.”

This marks the first time Russia has struck a government building in Kyiv. The night raids resulted in the deaths of four people, including an infant.
