The European Union has activated its specialized emergency management fleet to assist in extinguishing wildfires affecting the Vlorë and Dibër regions in Albania.
According to an official statement from the EU Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid department, three firefighting aircraft from Greece and Italy have been deployed on the ground and are actively operating in the affected areas.
“We stand ready to provide further support if needed,” the EU declaration emphasized.
In recent weeks, wildfires have continued to blaze across multiple regions in Albania. The response has involved the Albanian Armed Forces, firefighting vehicles, municipal forces, volunteers, and other operational units working together to contain and extinguish the fires.
