Aivo Orav, Head of the European Union Office in Kosovo, met on Tuesday with Acting Minister of Local Government Administration, Elbert Krasniqi, to discuss the importance of strong and accountable local governance in implementing reforms.
In the meeting, Orav emphasized that the recent elections in Kosovo demonstrate how local democracy engages citizens and helps shape policies that reflect community needs through decision-making close to the people.
“The latest elections in Kosovo show how local democracy mobilizes citizens and forms policies that reflect community needs through participatory governance,” Orav stated.
The discussion highlights the EU’s ongoing focus on supporting transparent, community-oriented governance and strengthening the role of local authorities in reform implementation.
