The European Union has stated that there is “nothing new” regarding a potential meeting between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti and Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, despite recent signals of renewed diplomatic momentum.

An EU spokesperson confirmed that, at this stage, there are no concrete updates to share about a possible high-level meeting, even as the bloc reiterates its willingness to facilitate dialogue between Prishtina and Beograd.

EU High Representative Kaja Kallas recently stated that she is prepared to mediate a leaders’ meeting “soon,” following signals of flexibility from Kurti. Over the weekend, Kurti agreed to temporary concessions related to provisions in the Law on Foreigners affecting the Serbian community in Kosovo.

Kallas noted that these developments have created “new momentum” for advancing both EU–Kosovo relations and the broader dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia. However, the EU has so far stopped short of confirming any dates or concrete arrangements for a meeting.

The lack of immediate progress underscores the fragile and often slow-moving nature of the EU-facilitated dialogue, even as both sides face increasing international pressure to normalize relations.
