Marta Kos, the European Union Commissioner for Enlargement, will participate in the Western Balkans Leaders’ Summit to be held on Tuesday, July 1, in Skopje.

Kos will meet with the leaders of Kosovo, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro, and Serbia to accelerate the implementation of the Growth Plan. The Government of Kosovo confirmed to KOHA that the acting Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, will attend the summit.

The EU announced that the summit will provide an opportunity to discuss new areas of cooperation, including consumer protection and tourism.

“The EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans aims to boost the region’s economy and help its countries join the EU. It provides €6 billion in funds for reforms and investments in areas such as energy, transport, and digital transformation, with the goal of increasing prosperity and stability in the region,” the EU announcement stated.
