The European Union has compiled a new list of U.S. goods, valued at approximately €72 billion, that could face new tariffs if ongoing trade discussions with Washington fail.

European Trade Commissioner Maroš Šefčovič confirmed this development today during a press conference in Brussels, according to Reuters. Šefčovič stated that the list has already been circulated among EU member states’ trade ministers. It includes American products that could be subject to new taxes if the two sides cannot reach an agreement to de-escalate trade tensions.

The Commissioner also announced that he would hold discussions with his U.S. counterparts later today to review the progress of the negotiations.
