Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani will participate on Wednesday in the EU–Western Balkans Summit in Brussels, following an official invitation from European Union institutions.
According to Bekim Kupina, Media Advisor to the President, Osmani will represent Kosovo at the highest political level.
“At the invitation of EU institutions, President Osmani will represent Kosovo at the EU–Western Balkans Summit,” Kupina confirmed.
The summit will be chaired by the President of the European Council, António Costa, and will bring together top EU leadership and Western Balkans representatives. The European Union will be represented by European Council President António Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, while EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, will also take part in the meeting.
Strengthening Strategic EU–Western Balkans Relations
According to the European Union, the summit aims to demonstrate and reaffirm the strength of the strategic partnership between the EU and the Western Balkans, highlighting the concrete benefits this cooperation delivers to citizens across the region.
The meeting is expected to focus on EU enlargement, regional cooperation, political dialogue, and alignment with European standards, at a time when the Western Balkans’ European perspective remains a central geopolitical priority for Brussels.
Summit Declaration to Be Adopted
At the conclusion of the summit, leaders are expected to adopt the official EU–Western Balkans Summit Declaration, outlining shared commitments, future priorities, and the next steps in relations between the EU and the region.
Kosovo’s participation, represented by President Osmani, comes amid ongoing discussions on reforms, dialogue, and the country’s European integration path.
