Germany, France, and Britain are ready to hold immediate talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program in an effort to reduce tensions in the Middle East, German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul has declared.
Wadephul, who is currently visiting the Middle East, stated that he is trying to help de-escalate the conflict between Israel and Iran, emphasizing that Tehran had previously failed to take the opportunity to engage in constructive talks.
“I hope this is still possible,” Wadephul told German public broadcaster ARD. “Germany, along with France and Britain, are ready. We are offering Iran immediate talks on the nuclear program. I hope this offer will be accepted.“
He added, “This is also a fundamental prerequisite for achieving a calming of this conflict — that Iran does not pose a risk to the region, to the state of Israel, or to Europe.”
