The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, is arriving in Kosovo today as part of her tour across the Western Balkans.
According to the European Commission’s official agenda, von der Leyen will meet with President Vjosa Osmani and Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti during her stay in Pristina.
The Office of the President of Kosovo announced that the meeting between President Osmani and von der Leyen will take place at 13:00 local time.
Before visiting Kosovo, von der Leyen was in Belgrade, where she met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Prime Minister Djuro Macut.
Her last visit to Kosovo was in October 2024, when she discussed the EU’s punitive measures imposed on Kosovo amid heightened tensions in the northern region, predominantly inhabited by Serbs. Since then, the European Union has begun gradually lifting some of those measures, imposed in 2023 following the escalation of the situation in the north.
