Tirana is set to host the European Political Community Summit for the first time in Albania, welcoming over 40 European leaders in what marks a historic moment for the country and the Western Balkans.
Some prime ministers are expected to arrive today for bilateral meetings with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, ahead of the main summit.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer will also arrive in Tirana on Thursday, one day before the summit. From the Albanian capital, he is expected to announce new measures aimed at curbing illegal migration and cracking down on criminal organizations involved in human trafficking to the UK.
Summit Setting and Welcome
Participants will arrive in front of the National Museum, proceeding to the Opera House where they will be welcomed by Prime Minister Rama. The summit venue, specially constructed behind the Skanderbeg Monument, features artwork by Albanian students depicting their vision of Europe.

The summit will begin with a plenary session focused on security and a shared vision for Europe’s future. Following that, three high-level roundtables will take place on the following themes:
- European security and democratic resilience
- Competitiveness and economic security, including mobility challenges
- Youth empowerment
