The European Union strongly condemned Israel’s airstrike in Doha, which targeted Hamas leaders, calling it a violation of international law and of Qatar’s territorial integrity.
In a statement issued Tuesday evening, the EU warned that such actions risk further escalating violence in the region.
“We express full solidarity with the authorities and the people of Qatar, a strategic partner of the European Union,” said the spokesperson for Kaja Kallas, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, in a post on social media platform X.
He stressed that any escalation of the war in Gaza must be avoided, as it is in no one’s interest.
“We will continue to support all efforts towards a ceasefire in Gaza,” the EU official declared.
