The European Union remains committed to facilitating the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia as a central pathway for both nations’ integration into the EU. Anitta Hipper, the EU spokesperson, emphasized this point in a press briefing on Monday.

“The road to the European Union for both Kosovo and Serbia must go through dialogue,” Hipper stated. “We are continuing our engagement. EU Special Representative for the dialogue, Peter Sorensen, is on his first visit to Belgrade, which will take place from today until Wednesday. As for the dialogue, we are committed to ensuring that the path towards EU membership for both parties moves forward through facilitated dialogue.”

When asked about the EU’s collaboration with the United States on the Western Balkans issue and the dialogue, Hipper confirmed that “the EU cooperates with all partners, including the United States.” She added that there have been contacts with the new U.S. administration but refrained from providing further details.
