EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos has stated that Serbia’s progress toward EU membership must be linked to accountability over the Banjska attack, saying that “non-commitment cannot be overlooked” in the accession process.
Speaking at a joint press conference in Pristina with acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, Kos emphasized that Serbia’s approach to past incidents will play a key role in shaping its European path.
During her first official visit to Kosovo since taking office in 2024, Kos also met acting President Albulena Haxhiu. The visit comes just weeks before Kosovo’s early elections scheduled for June 7.
