Thousands of people have already gathered at Skanderbeg Square in Tirana, where a large protest is being held in support of the former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) currently on trial in The Hague.

From early Friday morning, buses and cars from all over Kosovo have been making their way toward the Albanian capital. According to Albanian media, citizens from the Preševo Valley and North Macedonia have also joined the protest.

The demonstration at Skanderbeg Square is scheduled to begin at 5:00 p.m.

It comes after previous protests — one held in Prishtina in August and another outside the Special Court in The Hague in September — demanding justice and expressing opposition to what many consider a politically motivated court against the KLA.

Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, and Rexhep Selimi have been in detention since 2020, charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity by the Kosovo Specialist Chambers.
