Exclusive: Here Are the Individuals Arrested by Kosovo Police on Suspicion of War Crimes

The Kosovo Police have announced today the arrest of five individuals suspected of committing the crime of “War Crimes,” reports RKS.

Under the order of the Special Prosecutor, the individuals with initials D.C., D.N., N.S., S.J., and M.Sh. have been detained. They are suspected, along with other unidentified members of this group, armed and wearing camouflage and irregular Serbian police or military uniforms, of having carried out an operation on April 5, 1999, in the early morning hours in the villages of Inatoc (Kokaj), Llovcë, Pogragjë, and Uglar.

Sinjali has exclusively learned the names of four of the five arrested individuals: Dragan Cvetković, Dragan Ničić, Slobodan Jevtić, and Milča Šosić.

What Charges Are They Facing?

They are accused of committing murder, inflicting injuries, burning alive Albanian civilian victims, taking hostages, committing abuse, assaulting, torturing physically and psychologically, looting, destroying Albanian properties and burning them, expelling Albanian civilians, and destroying and abusing cultural and religious sites. These actions are sanctioned under local laws, the laws of war, and the Geneva Conventions and Additional Protocols.

The Special Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Kosovo will undertake further legal procedural actions regarding these individuals, while the investigation into this criminal case will continue.
