The exit poll conducted by Albanian Post and published on Klan Kosova indicates that the winner of the elections in Albania is Edi Rama, reports Rks News.
According to the exit poll, Edi Rama’s Socialist Party has won 51.08% of the vote, while Sali Berisha’s Democratic Party comes second with 38%.
Based on this result, Rama is projected to secure 79 seats, while Berisha is expected to win 54 seats.
The Constitution and Electoral Code of Albania define the country’s electoral system as regional proportional, where each of the 12 counties is allocated seats based on population size.
In this election, 3,713,761 Albanian citizens, both domestic and abroad, voted to elect the 140 members of the next Parliament, from a pool of 2,046 candidates, representing 11 political parties and electoral coalitions.
