A massive fire broke out on the upper floors of a high-rise building under construction in central Berlin, just 250 meters from the headquarters of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), sparking panic and concern in the area.

According to Anadolu Agency, over 100 firefighters were immediately deployed to tackle the blaze, which engulfed the structure located at the intersection of Kurfürstenstraße and Schillstraße.

During the firefighting efforts, three powerful explosions were heard, suspected to have been caused by gas cylinders used in the ongoing construction work.

As a safety measure, authorities sealed off nearby roads, causing major traffic disruptions throughout the area.

Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway. So far, no official reports have confirmed whether there are any injuries or fatalities.
