Kyiv’s mayor, Vitali Klitschko, reported explosions in the city as the Ukrainian capital faced a new wave of Russian missile and drone attacks on November 13.
“More drones are entering the capital. The risk from missiles continues. Do not leave the shelters,” Klitschko wrote on Telegram.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force had warned that a swarm of Russian drones and missiles were heading toward Kyiv and issued an air raid alert across the country.
“[Russian President, Vladimir] Putin is currently launching missile attacks on Kyiv,” wrote Andriy Yermak, Chief of Staff to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, on Telegram.
Since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, the Russian military has intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities in recent weeks.
The latest Russian assaults have caused significant damage to civilian and energy infrastructure, as Ukrainians brace for winter while the war continues.
