The website reported the outage in the evening, with most users complaining about issues with these social media platforms on their mobile phones.
Meta, the company that owns these platforms, has not yet commented on the issue.
At this time, the cause of the outage remains unknown, but users turned to the rival platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to voice their frustration.
In addition to Facebook and Instagram, it was also reported that Messenger and Threads, other Meta platforms, were not functioning during the outage.
