Faik Rexhepi, a man from Presheva who became a symbol of resistance against Slobodan Milosevic, has passed away.
The news was shared by human rights activist, Belgzim Kamberi.
Kamberi announced that the funeral of the late Rexhepi will take place tomorrow at the Dragodan cemetery in Prishtina, at 3:00 PM.
Faik Rexhepi, who worked at the “Feronikeli” company in Drenas, in August 1990, along with his colleagues, went to greet a U.S. Congressional delegation.
At that time, the Serbian police intervened harshly, attempting to disperse the crowd.
However, the only one who remained still was Faik, who sat cross-legged in the middle of the crowd.
A few years ago, exactly at the spot where he protested, a monument was erected, called “The Man Who Did Not Move,” in honor of his actions.
