The Kosovo Police informs the public that claims published by several Serbian media outlets, alleging that an “armed group of Albanians fired at Serbian military personnel near the so-called ‘Debela Glava’ base,” are disinformation, unfounded, and do not correspond to any verified information or official incident in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo.
Based on all operational data, reports from police units on the ground, and coordination with other competent institutions, no incident of the claimed nature was recorded.
“Publishing such inaccurate information contributes to creating false perceptions and unnecessarily raising tensions in border areas,” the Kosovo Police emphasized.
The Kosovo Police assures citizens and the public that the situation in the border area has been and remains calm, fully under the control of authorities.
During regular operational duties yesterday, police units arrested four individuals (hunters), Serbian citizens, for illegal border crossing and possession of weapons without a license, who had entered the Republic of Kosovo from Serbia. The weapons and ammunition were confiscated, and the suspects were placed in detention in accordance with legal procedures, following decisions of the competent judicial authorities.
The Kosovo Police calls on media outlets to report only verified information and to avoid publishing unconfirmed reports that could negatively affect public order and safety.
The Kosovo Police remains committed to ensuring overall security, enforcing the law, and maintaining public order for all citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.
