Behar Preniqi, a resident of Obiliq, has been arrested by Serbian authorities while traveling from Germany back to Kosovo.
A family member told IndeksOnline that he was detained under the allegation of having been a member of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA).
“The reason for his detention is baseless — he was just a child during the war in Kosovo. There is no justification for his arrest. We are devastated and have no information about his condition,” the relative stated.
She also revealed that Preniqi’s wife has contacted Kosovo’s institutions and has urged them to take all possible measures to secure his release.
Preniqi was reportedly visiting relatives in Germany and was detained by Serbian authorities at the border while returning to Kosovo.
