The Albanian political class united today to bid a final farewell to Fatos Nano, a figure whose stance — often rising above divisions deeply influenced the country’s political life.
The Democratic Party was represented by Flamur Noka, while among the attendees were also Fatmir Mediu, Agron Duka, and Petrit Vasili.
Tributes to the former Prime Minister extended beyond Albania’s borders. Ali Ahmeti and Bujar Osmani interrupted their election campaign in North Macedonia to attend the ceremony in Tirana, underscoring the regional influence Nano had built over the years.
At the ceremony, Vetëvendosje’s MP Albin Kurti was seen standing beside Prime Minister Edi Rama. According to ABC News, the two were observed conversing alongside the funeral procession on “Dëshmorët e Kombit” Boulevard.
