A woman has died and eight others have been injured following a multi-vehicle traffic accident on Monday at approximately 18:15 in Komoran, Drenas.
According to the 24-hour report from the Kosovo Police, the accident occurred due to excessive speed and failure to adjust driving to road conditions.
Police confirmed that six vehicles were involved in the collision. The suspected driver responsible for the crash was arrested after receiving medical treatment and has been placed in custody.
“Due to the failure to adapt vehicle speed to road conditions, six vehicles collided. As a result, one Kosovo woman lost her life, and eight others sustained bodily injuries. The injured were transported to the University Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKUK) for medical treatment,” the police report stated.
The body of the victim was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IML) for autopsy, while investigations are ongoing under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office.
This tragic incident is a stark reminder of the dangers of speeding and the importance of respecting traffic laws to prevent such fatalities.
