Ahead of the latest attempt to convene the Kosovo Assembly, Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative (Nisma), hinted at behind-the-scenes movements since the last session.
“There are some developments. There have been proposals and communications by letter,” Limaj told reporters upon entering the Parliament building, offering no further details.
Limaj did not confirm whether he would attend a meeting proposed by the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) on forming a transitional government, an initiative introduced by Lumir Abdixhiku to overcome the current institutional deadlock.
LDK’s proposal calls for a National Transitional Government made up of all Albanian parties, with participation from non-majority representatives, aiming to govern until a new President is elected. The proposed government would have a clear mandate, fixed duration, and a consensus-driven executive agenda.
