FBI Director Kash Patel announced Monday that DNA collected from a cloth wrapped around the firearm allegedly used to kill conservative activist Charlie Kirk matches the arrested suspect.

Tyler Robinson, 22, has been taken into custody in connection with the death of the right-wing influencer, who was shot during a university event in Utah last Wednesday.

Authorities recovered a rifle near the shooting scene and a screwdriver from the roof from which the shots were reportedly fired.

“Today I can report that the DNA traces from the cloth wrapped around the firearm and the DNA on the screwdriver match the suspect currently in custody,” Patel told Fox and Friends.
