The U.S. Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources, Richard R. Verma, has addressed the ongoing FBI investigation into the November 29 attack on the Ibër-Lepenc Canal, a critical infrastructure in Kosovo.
Verma confirmed that the FBI is working aggressively to identify and hold the perpetrators accountable.
“The investigation is still ongoing, and we will continue to provide our support. Let’s wait and see what conclusions the teams reach. I believe they are working quite aggressively to find the culprits so they can be held accountable,” Verma stated.
In an interview with KTV, Verma reiterated the U.S. condemnation of attacks on Kosovo’s critical infrastructure and praised the swift response of the Kosovo Police and emergency services.
“We condemn planned attacks on infrastructure and appreciate everything the Kosovo Police and emergency services did to respond so quickly. We’ve offered all possible support for the investigation through our FBI and Department of Justice colleagues. These investigations are ongoing, and I urge everyone to await their conclusion before assigning responsibility. However, such attacks are unacceptable under any circumstances,” Verma emphasized.
