Special agent Althea Duncan stated on behalf of the FBI that the agency is handling the incident in New Orleans that resulted in 10 deaths and approximately 30 injuries.
“This is not a terrorist event,” she said, as reported by BBC. This contradicts the mayor’s earlier statement, in which she referred to the incident as a terrorist attack.
Improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were found at the scene.
She emphasized that citizens should stay away from the area “until we understand what is happening.”
