FIFA has given the green light for Veldin Hoxha and Leon Avdullahu to represent Kosovo starting from September 2. The “Dardans” invited both players for the September matches, confirming that they are eligible to play in World Cup qualifiers.
Hoxha was previously part of the Croatian Football Federation, while Avdullahu decided to leave Switzerland, where he had also captained youth teams.
Both players were warmly welcomed by coach Franco Foda, who spoke positively about their inclusion. Hoxha currently plays for Rubin Kazan in Russia, while Avdullahu contributes to Hoffenheim in Germany.
Kosovo will face Switzerland tomorrow at 20:45 in a World Cup qualifier. On September 8, they are scheduled to play Sweden at the same time—first away, then at the Fadil Vokrri Stadium.
