The wildfire situation across Kosovo remains alarming, with 15 active fire zones reported in open fields and forested areas, according to the latest update from the Emergency Management Agency (EMA).

Fires have been recorded in several municipalities including Mitrovica, Skenderaj, Ferizaj, Gjakova, Klina, Leposaviq, Podujeva, and Novobërda.

The situation is particularly critical in the village of Llausha in Skenderaj Municipality. The Kosovo Police and the Professional Firefighting and Rescue Unit (NJPZSH) have intervened on the ground, while air support was provided by KFOR helicopters coordinated by EMA.

In Klina, fires remain active in the mountainous village of Ujmir, an area difficult to access by land. Meanwhile, Podujeva has recorded four separate fire outbreaks in the villages of Batllavë, Belloshë, and Hërticë.

EMA noted that some of the major fire outbreaks from July 7 have been localized in Malisheva, Shtime, and Podujeva. However, the risk remains high and the situation is under continuous monitoring by local authorities.

Fortunately, there have been no reported human casualties, although material damages have been confirmed.

EMA is urging citizens to refrain from igniting fires in open areas and to immediately report any suspected fire activity or individuals responsible to the emergency numbers 112, 193, or 192.
