Finnish soldiers from KFOR’s Regional Command East, in close coordination with the U.S. Army Aviation Task Force, conducted a MEDEVAC (medical evacuation) exercise at Camp Bondsteel.
According to the announcement, the exercise—supported by a UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter—simulated casualty evacuations under realistic operational conditions. Troops trained on loading and unloading casualties during live helicopter operations, including procedures carried out while the rotor blades were in motion.
“Such training strengthens interoperability and cohesion among KFOR units and enhances their operational readiness to respond to real-world emergencies,” the statement said.
KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999)—to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and to ensure freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner.
