A major fire broke out on the morning of August 12 in the village of Sodovina e Qerkezve, Viti, threatening residents’ properties.
At around 10:30, police were alerted that flames had spread through an open field in the Remnik i Ri neighborhood. Due to high temperatures, the fire quickly expanded and headed toward nearby houses.
🚒 Firefighters responded immediately and managed to bring the blaze under control, preventing greater damage.
Following investigations, the suspect was identified as Drin Imeri, 28, who had set fire to trash in an open field but failed to control it.
With the prosecutor’s authorization, Imeri was interrogated in the presence of his defense lawyer and admitted to the act.
The case has been forwarded to the prosecution on charges of “Causing General Danger.”
