Firefighters from Mexico and Canada have been called in to help combat the wildfires in Los Angeles.

Mexico sent a crew of more than 70 firefighters and personnel to the city and will begin fighting the fire in Palisades on Monday, according to Cal Fire, the state’s fire authority, speaking to NBC News.

“All 73 will be paired as a hand crew,” said Cal Fire public information officer Curtis Rhodes.

These crews are responsible for building firelines — strips of land cleared of flammable materials.

Cal Fire also stated that Canadian firefighters have been deployed to the region.

Over the weekend, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky offered to send 150 firefighters from his country to assist in extinguishing the flames.
