Ambassador Aivo Orav, an Estonian diplomat with over 30 years of experience at both the national and EU levels in diplomacy and EU affairs, assumed his role today as Head of the EU Office in Kosovo/Special Representative of the European Union in Kosovo.
Ambassador Orav, who previously served as Estonia’s Permanent Representative to the EU and as head of EU delegations in Montenegro and North Macedonia, succeeds the Czech diplomat, Ambassador Tomáš Szunyog. In a post on the platform X, he expressed his eagerness to work closely with local and international partners.
“First day at my new office as EU Ambassador to Kosovo. I look forward to working closely with our local and international partners to: Advance our political and economic relations, support reforms, bring Kosovo closer to the EU, and to get to know Kosovo and its people,” he wrote.
