As part of the implementation of the Joint Trilateral Declaration signed in 2025, the first Kosovo–Albania–Croatia trilateral meeting was held today at the level of Directors of Defense Policy and Armaments.
According to a statement from the Ministry of Defense, this activity represents one of the concrete actions undertaken within the framework of implementing the agreed areas of cooperation between the parties.
The delegation of the Republic of Kosovo was led by the Director of Defense Policy, Faruk Geci. During the meeting, participants exchanged views on opportunities to advance cooperation in the field of defense capabilities, enhance interoperability between the defense industries of the signatory countries, and outline further steps for the continued implementation of the Declaration.
“The Declaration defines four main areas of further trilateral cooperation, including the promotion of cooperation in defense capabilities and the defense industry, increasing interoperability through education, training, and joint exercises, addressing hybrid threats and strengthening resilience, as well as providing continuous and full support for Euro-Atlantic integration,” the Ministry’s statement said.
It was further emphasized that the Joint Trilateral Declaration also reaffirmed the commitment to further strengthen trilateral cooperation in the field of security and defense among Croatia, Albania, and Kosovo, with the aim of increasing security and stability in Southeast Europe.
“In this context, the importance of coordinated efforts to address emerging security challenges, hybrid threats, and other risks that may undermine regional and international stability was underscored,” the statement added.
