Five Arrested in Kaçanik for Attempted Jewelry Store Burglary

Kosovo Police have arrested five individuals in Kaçanik, including three Kosovo citizens and two Serbian nationals, suspected of attempting to break into a jewelry store on Ismail Raka Street.

The two Serbian suspects, M.M. (36) and D.T. (35), were caught in the act by police around 01:40 AM, while three Kosovo citizens, L.M. (48), B.H. (42), and R.F. (28), were intercepted nearby in a vehicle with local license plates.

Police seized tools believed to be used in the attempted burglary, including crowbars, hammers, keys, screwdrivers, a sharp instrument (scalpel), and gloves. Keys to a VW Caddy parked near the crime scene were also recovered.

All five suspects were interviewed with legal counsel and interpreters present, and two admitted involvement. Following the prosecutor’s order, the suspects have been detained for 48 hours pending further investigation.

Kosovo Police urged citizens to report suspicious activity via 192 or the digital platform “Report to Police”.
