Five people were injured in a traffic accident on the Mitrovicë–Leposaviq national road, near the village of Rudar, Kosovo Police reported. The crash involved a civilian vehicle and an official Kosovo Police car.
According to the police report, three civilians and two police officers sustained injuries. All injured were transported for medical treatment and are currently under the care of healthcare staff.
Police units from the Mitrovicë South Regional Directorate initially responded to the scene, accompanied by firefighters and emergency medical personnel. Later, as the location falls under the Mitrovicë North Regional Directorate, the regional traffic unit, along with medical and firefighting teams from the area, also intervened.
The incident is under investigation by competent authorities to determine the cause of the accident, and the Kosovo Police Inspectorate has been notified.
Kosovo Police emphasized the importance of safe driving and adherence to traffic rules, especially during the busy holiday season.
“We call on all road users to exercise increased caution and respect traffic regulations to prevent accidents,” the Police statement said.
