Albanian President Bajram Begaj has reacted to the deteriorating situation caused by intense rainfall and widespread flooding across the country, calling on citizens in affected areas to strictly follow official evacuation guidance to ensure their safety.
In an official statement, the President said he is closely monitoring developments and remains in continuous communication with central and local authorities, Civil Emergency Structures, and the Albanian Armed Forces to manage and respond to the flood crisis.
“The President of the Republic is following with concern the situation created by the intensive rainfall in the country,” the statement said.
Begaj emphasized the importance of public cooperation with emergency services, noting that coordinated action is essential to minimize damage and protect lives.
“The Head of State especially calls on residents in flooded areas to follow the instructions of the responsible structures for a rapid and safe evacuation,” the statement stressed.
Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the President underlined that “in these difficult moments, the life of every citizen comes above all else.”
Authorities continue to assess the impact of the flooding while emergency teams remain deployed in the most affected regions.
